In summer 2015, more than 90 SOPHE members responded to a call in News U Can Use for those interested in working with community colleges and wanted more information on how to do so. SOPHE’s National Implementation Task Force on Accreditation in Health Education and SOPHE’s Community Colleges Task Force have been working with the Association of Schools and Programs in Public Health and the League for Innovation in Community Colleges over the past 24 months to link advance associate preparation in public health and health education. From December 2014 thru March 2015, a series of three webinars presented foundational courses in health education. These courses will be published in the special journal issue of Pedagogy in Health Promotion in March 2016. However, SOPHE faculty members and others need to learn what community colleges are ready to develop courses and how to take the first steps in building articulation agreements between 2 and 4 year programs. 

By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:

- Summarize the development and progress of the Community Colleges and Public Health Initiative and next steps for future development of the public health workforce. 
- Describe the League for Innovation in Community Colleges mini-grant program and how to work with those community colleges that have been awarded funds to develop their public health associate degree programs.
- Analyze essential elements of a model articulation agreement between 2 and 4 year professional preparation programs focusing on health education. 
- Apply key concepts learned from the New Mexico experience in working with community colleges and facilitating productive partnerships between associate and baccalaureate public health programs.
